I love this bench – not only is it gorgeous, but incredibly versatile as well with a sliding and removable serving tray (as pictured) and according to the description, 3 drawer storage space which isn’t quite apparent from the product image. I don’t normally like pine finishes, but this is more in a honey tone and looks warm and contemporary.

These storage ottomans caught my eye – particularly, the vibrant red one, but they are also available in a black, brown, and cream. I like the glossiness to the leather; it really sets a classy look. The top flips to reveal a tray and storage capacity inside the piece. This style of ottoman comes in a rounded or square shape in the same 3 color selections.

I thought the idea of large ottomans taking the place of hard-surfaced coffee tables was a refreshing escape from the norm. I think they make a space more cozier in general and provide the dual purpose of a tabletop (when paired with solid-surface trays) and footrest. Though I probably would not opt for this solution in a more formal space, I think they would be great for television viewing areas, basement rec rooms, and the like. Here are some solutions I found for under $300 as these pieces can usually be quite expensive in comparison to a wood/metal coffee table.
